About Us

Mitchell Machine is a fourth generation family business with over fifty years experience building Special Custom Machinery.  John A. Mitchell founded Mitchell Machine in the 1920’s, and focused primarily on part production through the war years.  His sons, Frank, John, and Richard, took over for their father in the late 1950’s, and led us into the tool and die business.

“Mitchell Machine/ Engineering has been one of my top suppliers of services over the last 30 years. I can always depend on quality work, honest dialogue and competitive solutions to our needs.”

Jerry Fitzgerald
Principal Engineer, Solutia, Inc.
(Formerly Monsanto Co.)

“We were both impressed and surprised at the fact that such a rough initial surface could be brought to a consistent, high gloss final finish on one machine dry run with a set of convolute wheels with no compound. In the field, the same polished, satin finish would have to be produced by skilled operators using multiple steps of abrasive products including cotton buffs, compounds and set-up wheels.”

Saint-Gobain Abrasives
